Supply/Demand Chain Executive Mag Announces Pros To Know

By Doug Caverly

Supply chain experts who are looking for new employees, new professional contacts, or even new bosses may want to consult a new list that's been released. Supply & Demand Chain Executive magazine has announced its "2010 Pros to Know."

The pros have been categorized as either "practitioners" or "providers," with many more of the latter than the former. Indeed, the magazine's named just 26 practitioners in an online announcement, compared to 140 providers, so set your sights accordingly.

As for what those terms mean, the statement explained, "The Practitioner Pros to Know is a listing of exceptional corporate executives at manufacturing and non-manufacturing enterprises who are demonstrating leadership during the current economic downturn by managing risk in the supply chain, providing competitive advantage and/or delivering value to the bottom line."

Then, "The Provider Pros to Know is a listing of individuals from a software firm or service provider, consultancy, or analyst or research firm who have personally helped clients address the challenges of the recession and prepare for the recovery ahead."

Hopefully this announcement will help people dealing with supply chains improve their practices. The publicity shouldn't be bad for the field as a whole, either.
