03.12.10 Supply Chain Execs Get New Training Course By Mike Sachoff The Council of Supply Chain Management Professionals (CSCMP) has opened its Senior Executive Institute for supply chain professional with first session to be held April 23-27 in Baltimore, Maryland. The Senior Executive Institute was designed to help supply chain management executives develop fundamental leadership skills in five key areas: discipline, strategic thinking, planning, leverage, and integration for sustainability. The first session will focus on discipline. The program provides participants with the tools to build their own management systems that are aligned with their corporate missions. "One of the key responsibilities of a senior executive is to design, create, and implement a successful management system to ensure the health of his or her organization, now and in thefuture," said CSCMP's Program Chair John Caltagirone, vice president-manufacturing, distribution, and trade for The Revere Group. "Our institute provides supply chain executives with the optimal educational environment for mastering this task. Workshops are tailored exclusively for C-level professionals who want to take their skills to the next level of leadership and learn how to motivate their employees to become genuine stakeholders." The program consists of a series of five three- to four-day workshops presented over a period of 16 months at different locations throughout the United States. Participants will have the opportunity to develop individual and organizational pilot projects that they will be able to implement in their own organizations and report on the results at the next session.
