100 ''Great Supply Chain Partners'' Named

By Doug Caverly

In any given field, just about everybody is interested in the best entities, whether it's a rival looking to learn from or defeat them or someone wanting to hire the perfect person or company for a job. So supply chain management professionals may find it interesting that 100 "Great Supply Chain Partners" have been singled out.

We'll admit: 100 partners makes for a large group. Too large to name them all here, in fact, and too large for most folks to consider researching every organization on the list.

Still, the list was compiled by SupplyChainBrain.com, giving it some clout, and a statement posted on the site explained, "[W]e again celebrate those companies that have been nominated by their partners as someone deserving recognition because their product or service has been of great value to them."

The statement then continued, "Whether in logistics, technology or consulting, these 100 selected companies have aided, advanced, improved - choose your word - the supply chain management of their clients."

So here's a quick rundown of the first company from every letter of the alphabet: Access America Transportation, Baxter Planning Systems, CaseStack, D&B Supply Management Solutions, Exel Transportation, FedEx, GENCO Supply Chain Solutions, HighJump Software, Icon-SCM, J.B. Hunt, Kane Is Able, LeanLogistics, Maersk Line, New Breed Logistics, OHL, Panalphina, QuestaWeb, RedPrairie, Saddle Creek, TAKE Supply Chain, Ultra Logistics, Vocollect, and Weber Distribution.

Good luck learning from or working with one or more of these organizations if you choose to pursue that path.
