CDC Software Involved In SCM Acquisition

After a bit of confusion and a failed deal involving another organization, a company that deals in supply chain management software has received an offer regarding a new owner. CDC Software is just being a bit mysterious about all other details.

Things got interesting earlier this month when CDC attempted to acquire Chordiant Software, in which it already owned a 1.3 percent stake, for $105.1 million. Chordiant didn't bite, rejecting the offer in a press release.

CDC effectively cut its financial ties as a result, selling its shares. Then CDC moved on, announcing another offer under somewhat shadowy circumstances, admitting neither the name of the entity it was interested in nor how much money it had put on the table.

In a statement, Bruce Cameron, the president of CDC Software, just said, "This company's solutions are used by some of the world's leading brands in the high tech, industrial and CPG markets, and their international presence in Europe and Asia would also complement the established infrastructure CDC Software already has in those regions. We also believe this new technology will provide our customers with a 360 degree view of their supply and demand requirements and constraints, as well as the analysis needed to optimize their supply chains."

So keep an eye out for further movements in this space, as it looks like something relatively big is in the offing.
