Supply chain professionals who are a comfortable drive (or maybe flight) away from Texas might want to start making travel plans for the time between October 13th and October 15th. The Annual Supply Chain Council Executive Summit has been scheduled for those dates.
The conference will take place at The Houstonian in Houston, Texas, and there are supposedly just 100 spots available, so it should be a somewhat exclusive event. That number should still allow plenty of networking to take place, however, and some interesting people are sure to be present.
Indeed, representatives from Cisco, Coca-Cola, DuPont, Kraft, and Michigan State University (along with a number of other noteworthy organizations) have all been scheduled to speak, which is a nice mix on the non-attendee side of things.
As for some other details, the Supply Chain Council said in a statement, "The SCC Executive Summit provides a forum for supply chain and operations leaders to discuss emerging business challenges and solutions. Topics at this year's summit include how to successfully manage supply chains in volatile times, integrated supply chain planning strategies, and business sustainability."
Then to touch on one other very important matter: fees for the summit range from $900 for representatives of nonprofits or the government to $2,500 for an "enabler with guest practitioner."
Have fun if you decide to attend the conference. Enjoy the feel of your fatter wallet if you choose to stay at home.
