The Supply Chain Resource Cooperative at the North Carolina State University College of Management now has a new co-director. Yesterday, the College of Management made an announcement about Clyde Crider filling the position.
Crider previously worked for Caterpillar, and actually spent more than 40 years at the company, which goes a long ways towards proving his ability to do a job well and demonstrate loyalty.
Also, most recently within the company, Crider served at Caterpillar University, meaning he has some experience instructing people.
Then here's one more key fact: Rob Handfield, Bank of America University Distinguished Professor of Supply Chain Management and co-director of the Supply Chain Resource Cooperative, said in a statement, "Clyde is a perfect fit for this role . . . . I have no doubt that he will provide immeasurable insights and knowledge to our students."
So this development looks like good news for young people in North Carolina who are interested in the supply chain industry, and perhaps, in response, other colleges will improve or create their own supply chain programs.
Congratulations to Crider on the new job and to North Carolina State University for landing him, by the way.
